BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — A Virginia Tech student and a recent graduate have been charged in connection with the slaying of another student in Blacksburg.
The 'Collegiate Times' reports that 22-year-old current student Jessica Michelle Ewing and 23-year-old graduate Keifer Kyle Brown, both of Blacksburg, were arrested Monday morning in connection with the death of Samanata Shrestha.
Strestha had been reported missing Saturday. Police confirm they fiound a car they had been searching for in connection with her disappearance, but aren't saying where.
Ewing is charged with 2nd degree murder and Brown is charged with being an accessory after the fact. They were arraigned Monday morning and are being held without bond.
Virginia Tech says in a news release that one suspect is a student and the other is a recent graduate. The university says the suspects live off campus but did not specify which one is a student and which is a graduate.
