Henrico, VA (1140wrva.com) – Henrico Firefighters made quick work of a two-alarm fire in the West End this morning, but not before one unit was completely destroyed, and seven others were damaged. The two-alarm fire occurred in the Chase Gayton apartment complex near Gayton and Gaskins Roads, just after 10 this morning.
Henrico Fire Captain James Mellon says the fire appears to be accidental. It may have started near the balcony of the top apartment. The man living in the apartment below says he woke up to Firefighters knocking on his door, and water running through his unit.
Mellon says fire damage was limited to those two units. Water damage occurred with the others.
