One Year Old Girl Now In Protective Custody Thanks To UPS Driver In Chesterfield

Richmond, VA (1140wrva.com) – Halifax County Sheriff Fred Clark is crediting a UPS worker, and a successful use of the Amber Alert system, for bringing a one-year old girl back safe and sound.  Alexis Carwile, 1, is now in protective custody after the arrests of her parents, Eric Black, 41, and Jennifer Carwile, 35.

Black and Carwile had just lost custody of the girl Thursday.  Clark says they then took the girl from a relative in Halifax.  The Amber Alert then followed.

A UPS driver on I-95 in Chesterfield noticed the alert on an overhead sign, and recognized the car a short time later.  His call to 9-1-1 lead to the arrest of Black in Prince George shortly after four this morning.  Carwile was arrested a few hours later in Prince Georges County, Maryland.  The girl was found with her.
