Numerous Accidents As Drivers Face Snow And Slush Covered Roads
Richmond, VA (1140wrva.com) – Drivers faced long and rough commutes this morning, as the winter storm seemingly caught some areas by surprise. Road conditions, especially in Chesterfield County, were treacherous, with even highways covered by snow and slush.
Numerous accidents occurred on Route 288 alone, where drivers wither spun out into medians or jersey walls, or just simply got stuck. State Police say they responded to over 200 accidents in the region, just between midnight and 8 am.
The area was originally forecast to get mostly rain.
