Happens Friday All Day At J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College Parham Road Campus
Richmond, VA (1140wrva.com) - The Richmond police department is doing a "Places of Worship Safety and Awareness Forum 2013" Friday, September 27 from 9:30am to 5pm at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College's Parham Road campus. Officer Kimberly Cheatham-McClarin is putttin the event together because she says church, synagogue, mosque, and temple safety and security is a continuously growing concern. She says, fortunately, there have been no incidents in Richmond worship places beyond property crimes.
She says various speaker from RPD will cover an array of topics. They include pastoral protection; active shooter; emergency action and evacuation plans; offering procedures; security teams, ushers, and greeters; crowd control and staffing during special events; campus and parking lot safety; church outreach ministry safety; disruptive persons; and liability issues.
She says anyone is invited, and while registratin is not required -- she requests you do so for her to get a head count and be able to produce enough packets to hand out to everyone. You can do so by clicking here.
